Abstract alcohol ink painting on canvas
*Available at the Art Upmarket October 19*
‘Where The Wild Things Grow’
This floral painting looks like a scene from a children’s story. It is a wild fantasy landscape in bright colours. I think it will do well in most interiors, it will brighten up any room!
The lovely golden shimmers gives it that little bit extra.
It is done on a heavy duty gallery wrapped canvas. The flowers were painted with alcohol inks. The size is 66 x 66 cm. It comes ready to hang with rope attached. It has an initial at the side, and full name on the back.
All art comes signed and with a certificate of authenticity.
In order for the inks to flow properly several layers of a special undercoat were added. The painting is finished with several layers of UV protection and varnish to help prevent fading.
Alcohol inks are highly pigmented, alcohol based inks. They can be used like other media like oils, acrylics and watercolours. By layering the inks, and by using different techniques, the artist can create a feeling of depth and flow. The thing that is different about these inks is how unpredictable they are, and to what extend one can control them. Guiding the inks takes a certain level of skill, but also the ability to accept their unruliness. I think that’s why I love them so much!
It is sprayed with several layers of varnish for protection.
