Abstract Beach Landscape Painting – A Coastal Haven Near Albany, Western Australia
This mixed-media abstract painting captures the essence of a serene beach near Albany, Western Australia. Using my memories as inspiration, I deconstruct the natural elements of the scene and reassemble them in a fresh, unique way on the paper. The painting reflects the sun-dappled water, gentle waves lapping against the pristine white sands, and rugged rock formations that create inviting rock pools for exploration and fishing. The natural rock formations act as a barrier, creating a safe, tranquil haven as the waves gently break around them.
Materials & Technique: This artwork is created with alcohol inks and acrylics on 200gsm Nara paper, a premium synthetic paper specially designed for fluid art. Nara paper’s non-porous surface allows the inks to flow freely, creating rich, vibrant colors without buckling. The layered application of alcohol inks builds depth and texture, while the unpredictable nature of the medium brings an exciting, spontaneous energy to the piece. The final work is sealed with UV protection and varnish to preserve its vivid colors and protect against fading.
